guardian stones
hold these bones
the wind slowly strips
the name drips away
the past

I have always been interested in brass rubbing and spent many an afternoon with just my sandwiches and flask, wax crayon and sheets of old wall paper (turned to show the rubbing on the, not patterned side) 'rubbing the stones' As I get older I don't do it as often now and I also have to take a kneeling pad along with me as well.

I am intrigued to know where the 'stones' in your picture are and whether you think that possibly my rubbing could be hastening the wearing process.
